March Recap and Looking Ahead

Whittier Primary was extra lucky this month! Scholars got a visit from some special readers for Read Across America. Whittier celebrated a week of extra special reading by having some fun spirit days like "Cozy Up to Reading" where scholars brought a blanket to snuggle with during Reading Lab. Reading for at least 30 minutes a day with your scholar ensures their success. Please continue to read with your student for 30 minutes a day and record 2 steps on their reading log.

This month was very exciting for pre-k, as well! Pre-k saw the Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile play. Pre-k also ended trimester 2 with a screening. There will be a Google form for families to fill out to participate in the next upcoming pre-k screening.

We celebrated our SCOTY (School Citizen of the Year) winner, Salvador!  Salvador, his teacher, and Dr. Bodenstab were able to acknowledge his hard work at the West40 29th Annual SCOTY Awards. Congratulations for being a model scholar!
